New Season, New Site, New Events
With 2D Con 2021 behind us we have already picked up our notebooks (Google Docs) and started planning for 2D Con 2022: Simulation. Simulation is all about sim games! Life sim, farming sim, theme park, dating, even farming sims. We expect to see some amazing cosplay and to have some unique events. We are planning to go all out with this theme.
That isn’t all we are planning. Over the last 6 years we have grown at an unprecedented pace, blowing our expectations completely out of the water. This has shown us that there is large need for more quality gaming events. So, last year we started to plan 2D Con: Unplugged. A yearly tabletop only event with a focus on relaxation and meeting new people. We are happy to announce that registration is open today. The event is limited to just 300 people so we are expecting it to sell out fast.
Unplugged will take place at the Great Wolf Lodge and Resort in Bloomington, MN (Across from the Mall of America) from January 28-30, 2022 the event itself will be $15 for all three days! We have also worked out some amazing discounts at the venue for hotel rooms and water park passes.
That isn’t all we have coming up though. We’ve partnered with some great events to help run their gaming spaces. We are really excited to work with them. You can look forward to seeing us at:
- Twin Cities Con: October 2-3, 2021 at the Minneapolis Convention Center
- Midwest Gaming Classic: April 29 – May 1, 2022 at the Wisconsin Center
- Anime Detour: March 18-20 at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis
- CONvergence: August 11-15, 2022 at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis
We will also be helping our partnered store, Highlander Games with the gaming room at VGM Con in Plymouth, MN. VGM Con have been long time friends and supporters of 2D Con and we are happy to be helping.
