Charles D. Moisant is a bold and unpredictable force in indie storytelling—Publisher and Creative Director of Silver Phoenix Entertainment Inc., and widely known in the industry as “the craziest man in comics.” With a career spanning comics, board games, horror, history, and humor, Charles creates immersive worlds that make you laugh, scream, and think—sometimes all at once.
His body of work includes cult horror hits like Haunting Tales of Bachelor’s Grove™ and Zombie Annihilation™, with one of his comics, “Covid is NOT Native,” permanently archived in the Field Museum for its cultural and educational significance. He’s worked with artists who have contributed to Oscar-winning animated films and Emmy-winning television, bringing professional polish to some of the weirdest ideas you’ve ever loved.
Charles is also the mind behind several soon-to-be-released games, with his various business partners from Horse Powered Games, Sixus 1 Publishing, and Brown Paper Wapper Games. These include the psychedelic, dimension-hopping Kremin the RPG™, the brutal retro-future racer Auto Klash™, the dungeon-crawling chaos of Ultimate Adventure of the Cockrel’s Fist™, and the alien artifact showdown Outer Planet Panic™. His upcoming card game Excuses™ is a hilarious, fast-paced battle of blame-shifting—easy to learn, hard to stop playing.
He’s also collaborating with Les L. Garner on the eerie and arcane Dr. Van Meter’s Forbidden Cthulhic Tarot™—coming soon to Kickstarter.
Charles proudly credits much of his creative drive to his 90-year-old mother, Elizabeth J. Moisant, a SAG actress who appeared in Shameless (Season 8, Episode 1) and Hall of Shame (Season 10). She continues to inspire others, still teaching improv classes and sharing her decades of wisdom with new generations of performers.
Whether he’s building haunted cemeteries, alternate timelines, or absurd card games, Charles Moisant isn’t just telling stories—he’s rewriting the rules.
